Chapter One:  Cognitive changes

6.
Conclusion

As you pass through this difficult but necessary phase of life, rapid physical, cognitive and psycho-social changes may create great confusion and stress.  However, puberty can also be an exciting time that allows you to get to know yourself - to recognize your strengths and shortcomings, to expand your scope of understanding, to establish your own identity, and to learn the inter-personal skills that will stay with you for life.  The difficulties experienced during this time can be considered a kind of training opportunity in the art of maturity.  Patience and a positive attitude can overcome the anxiety that accompanies change and help you make a success of the challenges around you.
