Joint School Talent Show

Brief information

114 HIM Teens from 10 participating schools joined the Joint School Talent Show held at Kwai Chung Hospital on 29th April 2017, to promote mental health and anti-stigmatization on person-in-recovery, through various kinds of performance created from what they learned in the 2-year Health in Mind programme.

 

Ms. Esther Wong, Executive Director of Mindset, and Mr. Kenneth Bell and Mr. Danny Luk, Members of Executive Committee together with Dr. William Lo, Hospital Chief Executive of Kwai Chung Hospital and Dr Cheryl So, Senior Clinical Psychologist were invited to be the judges for the performance.

 

Every school was given 8-minute on stage to present challenges of mental health patients, and the difference the support & care from others can made. After several months working on the scripts & rehearsal, all the school has performed well and the audience enjoyed the show very much.

 

When it came to the end for announcement of the results, all the Teens were very excited. Ying Wa Girls' School won the Educational Performance Award, while Tuen Mun Catholic Secondary School & S.K.H. Tsoi Kung Po Secondary School opt the Innovative Award and the Entertainment Award respectively. N.T. Heung Yee Kuk Yuen Long District Secondary School took back with them both the Grand Jury Award and the Popularity Award, which was voted by the Jury & among all the participating schools. Congratulations to them!

 

Reflected on their 2 years of Teens programme & consolidated on their learnings through the talent show, they tried different methods to promote mental health, encourage the acceptance for person-in-recovery and social inclusion.
