In order to raise the awareness of the students and provide proper information on mental illness, Health in Mind Programme organized Workshop 1 with hospital visit at Kwai Chung Hospital on 13th October, 2018 (Saturday). We are honour to have Dr. Clara Siu, Associate Consultant from Early Intervention Team, Kwai Chung Hospital as our speaker of the workshop.

Dr. Siu outlined about psychosis through quiz with Yoga. She introduced the causes and the symptoms of psychosis, and together with various kinds of treatments in public hospital. A role play was designed for Teens to experience how the delusions & hallucinations would affect a person with psychosis on his daily life. Through games, Teens understood the challenges faced by the person with psychosis and how to support them in seeking help and on the way of recovery.

The workshop also included a visit to Kwai Chung Hospital, for the students to have a clear picture of the facilities and service provision of a mental health hospital, as well as the daily routine of a patient before discharge. It debunked the myths about a psychiatric hospital and its patients, which mainly came from the media.

According to the post-workshop questionnaire, all students agreed the workshop could help them know more about psychosis. In addition, 93.55% of students were satisfied with the workshop.
