Workshop 4: Human Library
Health in Mind Programme organized the “Human Library” workshop at Christ College on 23rd January, 2016 (Saturday) and 30th January, 2016 (Saturday). We are glad to have Peer Specialists from different organizations to share their way of recovery to 127 teens.
The first part included presentation from social workers, group discussion and demonstration, the workshop provided an opportunity for teens to have a better understanding about Peer Specialists. Then the peer specialists shared their pathway from having mental illness, treatment, recovery, and then back to society. Through the sharing of their personal experience, Teens gained much insights on the cause of illness, importance of seeking help and support of family and friends. At last, teens design a thank you card to show their appreciation for the precious sharings.
According to the post-workshop questionnaire, 99.1% of students agreed the workshop could help them know more about mental disorders, and 98.3% of students satisfied with the workshop.
