Workshop 4: Positive Psychology
Brief information
Workshop on Positive Psychology was organized by “Health in Mind – Youth Mental Health Promotion Programme on 19th October 2013 (Saturday), at TWGHs Mrs Fung Wong Fung Ting College, around 140 Teens and teachers participated. Ms. Toby Chan, Assistant Service Manager of United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service, United Centre of Emotional Health and Positive Living (UCEP) was invited to introduce the theory of positive psychology and guide the participants to pursue a pleasure and meaningful life.
The main objective of the workshop was to teach students how to develop positive thinking, and through a variety of theories and messages, let participants have the opportunity to reflect the meaning of life, as well as enhance resilience capability. Through games, video clips broadcast, discussion and competition, speaker inspired the participants how to enjoy the fun of work and livelihood, and the effective and positive ways when facing difficulties. The major factors include: Happiness, Gratitude, Flow and Optimism.
To review the effectiveness of workshop, we distributed questionnaires to all participates. More than 95% of students expressed the contents of workshop was useful, which could help them to think positive. Besides, students have realized Happiness is simple, we can choose to be happy.
