Joint School Drama Show
Nearly 130 HIM advocates from 9 participating schools joined the Joint School Drama Show held on 11th May 2013, to perform drama promoting mental health and anti-stigmatization learned from the 2-year Health in Mind programme.
Dr T L Lo, Hospital Chief Executive of Kwai Chung Hospital and Dr Raymond Chan, Senior Clinical Psychologist of Kwai Chung Hospital are invited to be the judges and officiating guests.
Numbers of topic relating to mental health were explored by the students at the show, including addiction, self-image and eating disorder, positive psychology, emotion management and anti-stigmatization etc.
To recognize the outstanding performances of students, Best Script Award and Best Performance Award are presented. The drama ‘When you have Eating Disorder’ by Heep Yunn School won both the Grand Award and Best Script Award, while Cotton Spinners Association Secondary School and ELCHK Lutheran Secondary School won the 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner of Best Performance Award respectively.
The drama ‘When you have Eating Disorder’ illustrated the difficulties in recovery and the importance of support from family and friends.
Through drama performance, HIM advocates promote mental health, and encourage everyone eliminate discrimination on mental illness to establish an integrated society.
