Workshop 4: Positive Psychology
Brief information
Workshop 4 – Positive Psychology was organized on 17th November 2012 (Saturday) at Caritas Jockey Club Lai King Rehabilitation Centre, more than 130 students and teachers participated. Ms. Carol YEW, Clinical Psychologist of United Centre of Emotional Health and Positive Living (UCEP) was invited to speak what is positive psychology and the ways to build up a happy and fulfilling life.
After ice-breaking game, through games, songs, videos, group competition and discussion, speaker encouraged students to think what the meaning of Happiness is. Students learned about gratitude and to establish personal interest. Besides, speaker guided students how to explore possible solution and think from different perspectives when facing difficulties. Moreover, speaker analyzed the elements of optimism and pessimism.
Questionnaires were distributed to review the workshop’s effectiveness. 100% of students enjoyed the workshop; 89.4% of them expressed the content of workshop benefited them. Besides, some students mentioned have learnt the importance of positive psychology; how to be happier; the importance of optimism; think from different perspectives in case of any difficulties etc.
