Orientation Day Camp of Health in Mind 2011-2013 was held on 24^th September 2011 (Saturday) at Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong - Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village. Nearly 150 HIM advocates and 48 Jardine Ambassadors participated in this activity.

We have invited Dr T L LO, Hospital Chief Executive of Kwai Chung Hospital & Mrs Nancy CHAN, General Manager, Human Resources Services of Jardine Matheson Group, giving a welcome speech at the Opening Ceremony.

Through adventure & team building games, it was good opportunity to let students and Jardines Ambassadors knowing each other, training up problem solving skills, and to build up team spirit.

The most favorable team building games was “Roman Water Cannon”. All participants were divided into 10 groups, each group was divided into two small teams, one responsible for building the water cannon, while the other team responsible for playing “treasure hunt”. According to the game instructions, participants have to find answers inside the camp site to exchange balloon for “water bombs”.  Under the hot weather in September, all students enjoyed this game very much.

Orientation camp was only the kick start of HIM Programme, students would participate in a series of interactive learning activities and volunteer services in coming two years, which help them to develop a more positive approach towards healthy state of their psychological and physical beings; increase knowledge on mental health; reduce stigmatization on mental illnesses in our community and build up their spirit of helping and serving the others in need.
