• Repetitive binge eating
    - Eating uncontrollably within a short period of time, say 2 hours, with an unusual amount of food intake
    - Feeling powerless in exercising self-controlled over food intake
  • Repetitive inappropriate compensative behavior such as self-induced vomiting, purging, fasting or doing exercises excessively
  • Any of the above occurring twice every week on average for 3 months in a row
  • Overly emphasize weight as a part of self-image


  • Purging type: Vomit deliberately or take laxative for compensative purge after binge eating
  • Non-purging type: Follow a strict diet, go on a fast or workout excessively after binge eating
